Galerie Loft, Rue des Beaux-Arts 4, Paris
9-14 September, daily 11am-7pm
Save the date, for our fourth participation of THE art fair for non-European art Parcours des Mondes, I am presenting a very special selling exhibition:
“Not For Display”
Two traditions. A century apart.
This September in Paris, we'll show 11 Gabonese reliquary figures - known as “Kota” - alongside 6 Paßstücke by Austrian artist Franz West (1947-2012), in the first exhibition ever to bring these radically different yet spiritually aligned works into direct conversation.
These are not objects made to be admired from afar.
They were made to be used, to be activated, to draw you in.
This exhibition isn’t just for looking — it’s for rethinking how we see and experience art.
Neither West’s sculptures nor the Kota figures were meant for display. And neither is this show. To view is not enough.
This art asks for your attention, your presence - maybe even your touch.
You don’t need to understand it.
You just need to feel what it’s asking of you.
And if you want to know, a printed catalogue will be available, offering new insights and unexpected angles - but the experience will begin when you step in.
